Best Dive Sites
Tulamben’s USAT Liberty shipwreck is Bali’s most famous dive. Nusa Penida offers manta ray cleaning stations and the chance to see mola-mola (July–October). Amed’s coral gardens are perfect for beginners.
Snorkeling Highlights
Blue Lagoon at Padang Bai, Jemeluk Bay in Amed, and Menjangan Island in West Bali National Park offer excellent snorkeling from the shore or by boat.
Getting Certified
Numerous PADI and SSI dive centres offer Open Water certifications from US$450. Courses take 3–4 days and include pool training plus open-water dives.
