A certified local guide leads the 2-hour climb through the dark tropical forest by headlamp, passing volcanic rock formations and steam vents that emerge from the earth itself.

Reach the summit (1,717m) with time to spare before dawn. Your guide prepares a simple breakfast of steamed bananas, bread, and hot tea — cooked using the volcanic steam vents. As the sky transforms from indigo to orange to gold, watch the silhouette of Mount Agung emerge across the caldera and the sun rise over Lombok.
