KEDUNGWUNI Batik Exhibition — a month-long exhibition running from July 11 through August 30 at Masa Masa Bali in Ketewel, showcasing the distinctive Kedungwuni batik tradition from Pekalongan, Central Java. Kedungwuni batik is renowned for its bold, vibrant colour palettes and intricate hand-drawn patterns that set it apart from other Javanese batik traditions.

The exhibition features dozens of pieces spanning traditional to contemporary designs, including kain panjang, sarongs, and wall hangings. Visitors can observe live demonstrations of the batik-making process, from the wax-resist drawing (canting) to the dyeing stages. Select pieces are available for purchase, and a small collection of antique Kedungwuni batik is also on display.

Visitor tips: Masa Masa Bali is located in Ketewel, approximately 20 minutes from Sanur. The exhibition space is open daily during regular business hours. Allow 1-2 hours to view the full collection. Photography is permitted on most pieces. The exhibition shop sells authentic Kedungwuni batik at direct-from-gallery prices. Combine with a visit to nearby Sukawati Art Market or the Goa Gajah temple in Ubud.
