Explore Penglipuran Traditional Village
A half-day wander through a 700-year-old Bali Aga village in the Bangli highlands — stone lanes, living ceremony, and the kind of quiet the south of the island has long forgotten.
The experience
- Setting: A single main lane runs from the village gate to the temple, flanked by identical traditional compounds behind tidy hedges. Penglipuran was named a UN Tourism Best Tourism Village 2023.
- Living culture: Daily offerings, traditional dance, and the unique Mianin (Ngaben) ceremony — here a whole cow is offered rather than a carved effigy.
- Things to do: Balinese cooking class, dance, bamboo painting, and an authentic village dinner. Overnight stays available at Feel Accommodation.
