Bali Hari-Hari: Traditional Village Life & Learning to Farm Like a Local
Live the rhythm of rural Bali for a day in the timeless village of Taro, where tourism has barely touched and daily life follows patterns set centuries ago. This is not a performance for visitors — you join real families doing real work, from tilling the soil to preparing offerings for the village temple.
Your morning begins at the family compound with a simple breakfast of black rice pudding and fresh fruit. Change into farmer’s clothes and follow your host to the fields: you might plant rice seedlings, harvest cassava, feed the pigs, or repair an irrigation channel depending on the season. There is no fixed script — the day follows the needs of the farm. A hearty lunch is cooked over a wood fire using ingredients picked minutes earlier. In the afternoon, help prepare canang sari offerings from coconut leaves and flowers, then join the family in placing them at the house temple. The day ends as all days here end: with coffee, conversation, and a view of the sunset over the valley.
Includes: Full-day immersion, all meals, translation by a local guide, hotel transfers (Ubud area). Proceeds directly support the village.
