Unlike the crowded waterfalls of the south, Sambangan feels like a discovery \u2014 accessed via a steep trail through clove and coffee plantations, with the sound of rushing water growing louder as you descend.<\/p>\n<p>Your guide leads you along the river through a series of seven waterfalls, each offering a different experience. Jump from a 10-metre cliff into a deep turquoise pool (<em>optional but highly encouraged<\/em>), slide down a natural stone water slide worn smooth by centuries of flow, float through a narrow canyon where the walls close in above you, and stand beneath a powerful cascade for a natural shoulder massage. Life jackets are provided for those who want extra buoyancy, and guides carry first aid and keep a close eye on conditions.
