Pasar Badung Market
This three-storey market building is the largest traditional market in Bali. Browse fresh produce, spices, textiles, and household goods. The early morning hours (5–8 AM) offer the most vibrant atmosphere. Try the local snacks like pisang goreng (fried banana) and jaja (traditional rice cakes).
Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali
The State Museum of Bali houses an extensive collection of archaeological artefacts, traditional textiles, dance costumes, and historical photographs. The museum complex itself features traditional Balinese architecture with separate pavilions for different collections.
Getting There
Denpasar is easily reached from anywhere in South Bali by taxi, ride-hailing apps, or public bemo (minibus). Ngurah Rai International Airport is located just 15 minutes south of the city centre. Parking is limited in the central area, so consider using a driver for the day.
Tip: Visit the Badung area on a weekday to experience it at its most lively. Sunday mornings are quieter with the city’s main square hosting free community activities.
